I was one of those that when they started passing all that legislation about emissions and fuel consumption was seeing a repeat of the mid-70's & 80's underpowered emissions nerfed trash cars returning and the end of fun cars.
Yet, the industry seems to be putting out higher horsepower and more efficient engines at a steady pace. Even the handling and advances on materials seem to heading in a good direction.
